Black Oxide is a method of surface oxidation treatment, commonly known as “boiling black.” Is to put the workpiece into the alkaline liquid for oxidation treatment so that the surface of the workpiece to generate a layer of ferric oxide, the surface rust, can also increase the appearance, for quenching the workpiece can also play the role of eliminating internal stress.

The oxidation treatment of steel is also called blue, black, black cooking.  After oxidation treatment, protective magnetic iron oxide is formed on the surface of the material. This oxide film is usually blue or black and sometimes black brown.  Its color depends on the surface state of the part, the chemical composition of the part material, and the oxidation treatment process. The oxidation treatment methods include saltiness oxidation, alkali-free oxidation, and electrolytic oxidation.  Most of them are alkaline oxidation.
