China has no shortage of CNC machine shops. The hard part is telling them apart.
Search “CNC machining China” and you get thousands of results. Some are real factories with their own machines. Some are trading companies that pass your drawing to whichever shop quotes lowest. Others are online platforms that route orders through a network of partner suppliers. On a website, they can all look the same.
The difference shows up after you pay. CNC machined parts arrive out of tolerance. Inspection reports are missing. The second batch does not match the first.
This guide lists 15 CNC machining companies and manufacturers in China for 2026. It compares their locations, main capabilities, certifications, online quoting options, and the projects each one fits best. It also covers China’s main machining hubs, why buyers source here, and how to vet a supplier before the first order.
China’s Main CNC Machining Hubs
Location matters if you plan to audit suppliers in person. Shops in the same region can often be visited in one trip.
Most CNC machine shops serving overseas buyers sit in three coastal provinces. According to Haizol’s China CNC Machining Industry Report 2026, Jiangsu (30.3%), Guangdong (28.9%), and Zhejiang (23.0%) account for 82.2% of the 456 CNC machining facilities it audited.
Pearl River Delta (Guangdong)
Key cities are Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Guangzhou, and Foshan. This is the main center for rapid prototyping and on-demand manufacturing. Finishing shops, mold makers, and electronics suppliers are close by, and parts ship through the Shenzhen and Hong Kong ports. In the Haizol sample, 52.3% of Guangdong factories run 5-axis milling machines and 61.4% offer Swiss-type turning, against a 48.2% national rate. Most companies on this list are based here.
Yangtze River Delta (Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai)
Key cities are Suzhou, Wuxi, Ningbo, Hangzhou, and Shanghai. Shops here serve many automotive, semiconductor equipment, and industrial machinery manufacturers. They often focus on tight-tolerance components and repeat production. Parts ship through the Shanghai and Ningbo ports.
Other regions
Tianjin, Qingdao, and Dalian have a base in heavy industry and marine equipment. Chengdu and Chongqing have growing automotive and aerospace clusters. These regions suit large, heavy parts or buyers with a nearby industrial customer. They are less common for prototype work.

- Best For: Aerospace, medical, and automotive parts, buyers who need machined parts and custom fasteners together, and startups that need help turning a concept into drawings
8. Haizol: Best for Comparing Multiple Supplier Quotes

Haizol is a Shanghai-based sourcing platform, not a factory. It was founded in 2015 and is backed by venture capital. Instead of making parts itself, it connects overseas buyers with audited Chinese manufacturers for CNC machining, molding, casting, and fabrication.
It works in two ways. In the marketplace model, buyers post an RFQ and receive competing quotes from several matched suppliers, then choose and manage the factory themselves. In the managed sourcing model, Haizol handles supplier selection, production follow-up, and assembly of key components, and the buyer deals with one contact.
- Website: haizolglobal.com
- Main Capabilities: Supplier matching for CNC milling, 5-axis machining, turning, Swiss machining, EDM, grinding, sheet metal, stamping, casting, injection molding, and assembly
- Certifications: Held by individual suppliers, not Haizol. Check which factory holds each certificate.
- Advantages:
- Several competing quotes per RFQ
- Supplier profiles show audited equipment and certifications
- Project coordination service for multi-supplier orders
- Best For: Procurement teams that want to compare many factories and are comfortable managing supplier selection

Why Choose Chinese CNC Machining Companies?
Most overseas buyers outsourcing CNC machining come to China for price. Many stay for speed, precision, and the range of processes available in one place.
- Lower unit costs: Savings are largest on parts with several setups, tight tolerances, or manual finishing. They are smaller when raw material dominates the cost.
- Precision and multi-axis capability: Established shops run 5-axis machining centers, Swiss-type lathes, wire EDM, and CMM inspection. In Haizol’s 2026 audit of 456 suppliers, 38.8% operate 5-axis milling centers. Standard milling and turning reliably holds ±0.025 to ±0.05 mm, and top-tier shops go tighter on critical features.
- Deep local supply chains: Material suppliers, heat treaters, and anodizing and plating shops often sit close together. Secondary processes take days, not weeks.
- Prototype to production: Many shops accept orders from 1 piece to thousands. Some also offer injection molding and sheet metal, so you keep one supplier as volumes grow.
- Fast quoting: Many suppliers offer online quotes with automated DFM feedback. Simple prototypes often ship within a few working days.
China is not always the best fit. Local suppliers can make more sense for large, simple parts where shipping cancels the savings, for fully automated high volume production, for parts needed in 1 or 2 days, or when tariffs push landed cost above local quotes.
How to Choose a CNC Machining Company in China
A low quote means little if the parts fail inspection. Use these steps to narrow your shortlist of CNC machining suppliers.
1. Confirm Who Will Make Your Parts
A direct factory gives you one point of accountability for quality control. An online platform offers fast quotes, but a partner shop may make your parts. A sourcing marketplace gives you many quotes, but you manage supplier selection yourself.
Check the business license. Its registered scope shows whether the company is a manufacturer or a trading company. Ask for case studies or references with custom machined parts similar to yours.
2. Check Equipment Against Your Part
A simple aluminum bracket may only need 3-axis milling. A part with features on several faces may need 4-axis or 5-axis machining. Sharp internal corners or hardened steel may need EDM or grinding.
Ask which surface treatment steps, such as anodizing or plating, are done in-house. Each outsourced step adds lead time and quality risk.
3. Verify Certifications and Inspection
Ask for the certificate, not a logo. Check that it is listed in the issuing body’s online database and that its scope covers the site making your parts.
ISO 9001 is the baseline industry standard. Medical parts usually need ISO 13485, aerospace parts AS9100, and automotive parts IATF 16949.
Request a first article inspection (FAI) report for new parts and a dimensional report with each shipment. For medical or automotive parts, confirm that records can be traced to each batch.
4. Test the Engineering Response
Send a real drawing with GD&T callouts. Useful DFM feedback flags:
- Tolerances tighter than the function needs
- Thin walls, deep pockets, or sharp internal corners
- Material choice and availability
- Ways to cut setups or use a cheaper process
A complex part quoted with no questions usually means no one read the drawing closely.
5. Compare Quotes on the Same Basis
Send every supplier the same drawings and specs. Check that each quote covers material grade, tolerances, inspection, finishing, setup costs, and shipping terms (EXW, FOB, or DDP).
Add freight, customs, and import duties to get the total landed cost. Production time is not delivery time, so confirm both.
6. Start With a Trial Order
Order a few prototypes or a short batch first. Judge part quality, response speed, and on-time delivery. Agree in writing how rejected parts will be handled.
For production programs, visit the factory or hire a third-party inspection company to audit it before the first large order.
Red Flags
- Refuses or delays a video tour of the shop floor
- ISO certificate not found in the issuing body’s database
- No FAI for new parts
- No written policy for rejected parts
- Cannot say which factory will make your parts
