Alodine finishes refer to the application of iodine solution on the surface of the material，so that the solution and the surface material chemical reaction, the formation of a very thin (0.5~4 micron) oxidation film. The principle of allowing anode oxidation is chromate passivation chemical reaction. The main components of elastin are chromic anhydride, tetrafluoroborate a, sodium fluoride, and other substances mixed in a certain proportion.
Alodine costs slightly less than anodizing, but it is more prone to scratches, wear, and damage to the appearance, and it cannot be used for decorative purposes and is irritating to the skin.
The most commonly standard is MIL-DTL-5541 with two classes. Type 1 and Type 2.
